LE, Ngoc Boi “Tommy”

Ngoc Boi “Tommy” Le

Ngoc Boi “Tommy” Le passed away on May 24, 2019, at the age of 76. He is survived by his loving wife Kimberly Nguyen, and is also survived by his first wife and mother of his children, Kathy Khanh Lam Le, his children Françoise Le Menteer, MD and Harrison Q. Le, MD, 4 grandchildren, and his 2 older brothers, John LeTung and John H. LeVan.

Born in Da Nang, Vietnam, on June 15, 1942, he emigrated to the United States as a high school student. He began his career in 1968 with the Tennessee Valley Authority as an electrical engineer. He worked for over 28 years with the federal government as a nuclear engineer in the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission.  He also served in the Montgomery County government volunteering as Vice Chair on the Board of County Electrical Examiners.

Family and friends will gather for a visitation and remembrance on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 2-4 pm at Francis J. Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking).

On Saturday, May 18, 2019, Victor D. Visoni passed on to a better place. Beloved husband of Lilian Visoni; brother of Fernando Salguerro; son-in-law of Esther; brother-in-law of Delson & Roxanne; Oscar & Raquel;  uncle of Gigi, Shawn, Vicente, Sammy, & Celeste. Victor enjoyed working as a heavy machine operator for EQR. He loved family, friends, working, aviation, sports, nature, grilling, socializing, karaoke, and good times. He was proud of his family and was always happy and positive.

REBECCA MARIE (DARDEN) EACHO

Age 87, reunited with her husband James “Jimmy” Eacho in the Kingdom of the Lord on May 21, 2019. Becky was born in Sampson County, NC, the youngest of five children, to Arthur and Claudia Darden. She left the farm for Sacred Heart College, graduated, and migrated to Washington, DC to find work. In 1952, she married Jimmy, raised a family, and they remained bound as one for 66 years. Becky is survived by her nine children: Mike, Pat, Jack, Jim, Bill, Martha, Chuck, Karen and Chris, as well as 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Friends and family will gather for visitation on Monday, May 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Francis J. Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd, West, Silver Spring MD. and on Tuesday, May 28 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Shrine of St. Jude Catholic Church, 12701 Veirs Mill Rd., Rockville, MD, where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Burial following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. CHIRICHELLA, Christian “Tina”

Christina “Tina” Chirichella

Christina “Tina” Chirichella, 63 of Silver Spring, MD, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 11:25 am.  Tina was born on August 12, 1955 to the late Vincent and Barbara Chirichella in Washington, DC. Her life was interrupted suddenly when at age 49 she suffered a major brain bleed and as a result spent the next 15 years at the Sanctuary at Holy Cross (nka Oak Manor Nursing Home) in Silver Spring, Maryland.   Prior to Tina’s illness she served as Payroll Manager for a local area grocery chain in Rockville, MD.  Her greatest joy was her Son, his wife and her sweet granddaughter, Ruby.  In the early days of her stay at the home, she enjoyed participating in a ministry with “Joni and Friends”; she made gospel bracelets which accompanied wheel chairs which the Joni and Friends organization shipped to many third world countries where medical equipment was not available.

Tina is survived by her son, David Grooms and his wife Angela and their daughter Ruby Grooms.  She is the sister of Vincent R. (Janie) Chirichella, Yvonne M. (Daniel – deceased) Voss, Anna M. (Charles – deceased) Scarlata, Debra (Charlie) Plunkett, Jerry (Sharon) Chirichella, and John P. (Susan) Chirichella.  She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, 20901 (Valet Parking), Thursday, May 23, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. where Funeral Service will be held, on Friday, May 24, at 11 am.  Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery directly after the service.

Philippe Bazie

Philippe Bazie of Silver Spring, Maryland, peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the age of 68. Philippe was born in Burkina Faso, had lived in France and Germany prior to move to the United States in 1978. Philippe married Truc-Mai Nguyen in 1999 and the couple had two children. He worked as Produce Supervisor at Whole Foods Market until his sickness in 2013. Philippe is survived by his daughters, Brigitte N. Bazie and Michelle N. Bazie. A viewing of the body will be held at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, May 20, 2019, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

WAIGAND, Mary Patricia

Mary Patricia Waigand (Age 89)

Mary Pat Waigand, a lifelong resident of Takoma Park, MD, died Wednesday, May 15 at Suburban hospital in Bethesda MD. Born November 27, 1929 in Washington DC. Mary Pat graduated from St Cecelia’s Academy. She went on to become the first female employee for the Takoma Park Volunteer Fire Department where she dedicated more than 22 years of service as an Administrative Secretary as well as becoming a second mother to the firefighters at the station. Mary Pat loved a good book, sunsets, antiques and strolling through flea markets and craft shows. Mostly, she loved her family and watching them grow. She was an extraordinary listener, a great friend and a wonderful mother, grandmother (Mawmaw) and great grandmother (GeeGee).

She was preceded in death by her son Robert Waigand and her grandson Brandon McKenzie. She is survived by her daughters Donna McKenzie (Ed) and Patricia Butler, grandchildren Jackie Butler Jr, Wayne Butler, Amanda McKenzie, Patricia Shaw, Wyatt McKenzie, 9 great-grandchildren and half-sisters, Sharon, Robin and Holly. Orlando Anthony Costantino “Lonnie” passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. Loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was predeceased by his wife Nell, of 65 years. He is survived by his two children, Barbara (John) Gownley and Anthony (Lucia) Costantino; sister, Margaret; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Lonnie was a proud Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. He served nearly 40 years in the federal government for Naval Air Systems Command as a procurement specialist. On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, of Kensington, MD.  Beloved mother of Joe (Celeste), Sam, Ellie and Max Downey; former spouse of Tim Downey; grandmother of Jasper Downey; daughter of  Donald V. and the late Carolyn Mayse; sister of Donald J. and Steve Mayse, Joan Lynch (Jim Mackey) and Karen Vincent (Alex); aunt of Veronica and Jessica Vincent and Olivia, Alana, Jon and Ben Mackey; niece of Dosey Lehman (Dan) and Michael Mayse (Georgia).  Also survived by numerous cousins and many close and beloved friends.

Theresa’s life centered on her beautiful children, her family, many friends, and her strong Catholic faith.  She attended St. Mark’s grade school in Hyattsville, MD and graduated from Regina Catholic High School and the University of Maryland.  She worked at John C. Grimberg for over twenty five years, and greatly valued and appreciated her time and friendships there.  Theresa loved the beach, family get-togethers, spending time with her kids and dinner with friends. She was known for her sense of humor, fun-loving personality and genuine love and warmth.  Everyone who knew her was blessed to be part of her life. The strength, courage, dignity and faith she showed during the five years of her illness were, and always will be, an inspiration to many.

Worked for the Federal Government for 52 years, starting at the Naval Surface Warfare Center before working at NASA for the remainder of his career.
